Position Overview
The candidate for the position of Accounts Receivable and Collections Manager should have a proven track record in accounts receivable and collections, strong computer, analytical and communications skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Required Skills/Experience
1. Contact clients to collect outstanding accounts receivable. Responsible for providing collection support to the billing partners. If approval to contact clients directly is not given, the analyst should then follow-up with the partners on the status of the clients in their charge.
2. Manage a staff of 3 Accounts Receivable & Collections Analysts.
3. Back-up the Accounts Receivable Manager.
4. Assist in cash application, report distribution or other duties as required.
5. On a monthly basis, as required will print statements of account and either mail them directly or if so desired by the Billing Partner, have them sent to the attorney for review with the department s standard form letter.
6. As part of the daily activities, will review the assigned partners aging report looking for discrepancies, deductions or clients in arrears and then follow-up with the partner or client to resolve and/or collect funds due the Firm.
7. As part of the collection activities, will maintain a record of all contacts and conversations in a manner which can be transmitted to others in the firm as required by a partner, COO, CFO or the manager for review.
8. If at any time a problem develops with a billing partner or client, it should immediately be brought to the attention of the manager.
Additional Duties:
Back-up Accounts Receivable and Collections Manager as required.
Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written.
Knowledge of all office equipment and the use thereof.
Proficient computer skills and thorough experience in the use of programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Elite Legal Billing System.
Three to Five years experience in Accounts Receivable and Credit and Collections. Law firm experience preferred.
Must be proficient in use of Excel.
Knowledge of Elite preferred.
Bachelor Degree: Required Business Administration/Management, Accounting or Computer Science with Concentration in Accounting.
