Position Overview
Perform operational, financial, and compliance audits for the Group. Senior Audit Officers regularly act as auditor in charge on high risk audits, and supervise the work of Audit Officers and Staff Auditors who are part of their audit team.
Determine if the internal controls in place effectively mitigate the organization's risk exposure to losses.
Ascertain that the Group's assets are properly safeguarded and controlled.
Evaluate compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Evaluate compliance with all applicable laws and Federal and State regulations.
Evaluate the reliability and integrity of financial information and reporting, in accordance with GAAP.
Determine if the Group's resources are used efficiently and effectively.
Make recommendations for corrective action.

Assess the level of risks and controls for the various functions to be audited.

Determine the audit scope and objectives; and plan audit tests and procedures accordingly.

Apply rating methodology to determine each specific function s rating and compute the overall Unit s Audit Rating.

Prepare the auditable units Risk Assessment to determine the frequency of the audit cycle to be used in the preparation of the annual audit plan.

Participate in meetings with auditees in a professional manner.

Write draft reports based on the results of the audit, and discuss audit report with auditee.

Review work-papers prepared by audit officers and staff auditors, make review notes, and follow-up.

Train new auditors on departmental procedures, including work-paper preparation, use of tools and software applications available.

The candidate will provide feedback to Audit Assistant Managers on the performance of staff auditors and audit officers for their evaluations.

Required Skills/Experience
Five to seven years of experience in auditing commercial domestic and international banking operations; knowledge of Accounting, Banking Operations, and State and Federal Banking Regulations; strong organizational and analytical skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; PC literate.

Education Requirements
Bachelor Degree: Required
Preferred: CIA, CPA, MBA, or other related certifications or degrees.
