Our Plano, TX client is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager with 5+ years experience managing or acting in a lead engineering role for mobile device applications.

Their team is looking for a very technology- savvy Senior Engineering Manager who will drive the development of the next generation products, as well as develop new innovative business applications for mobile devices.

Experience with Symbian based applications is a plus

Responsibilities:

* Ability to attract and retain top talent, nurture career and professional growth, foster an atmosphere of team purpose and unity and cultivate a world class, scalable development team.
* Define and implement Engineering Processes that will ensure delivery of a high quality product.
* Directly manage a group of software engineers by defining and tracking schedules for planning, implementing, debugging, and delivering product on a timely basis and under budget.
* Work closely with team's product marketing, business development, quality assurance, documentation, and localization teams to ensure the ongoing, global success of the product and to define product vision, driving the functional and architectural design for new product features.
* Evaluate emerging, complimentary technologies and work to integrate them into our products.

Requirements:

* Track record of success, with 5+ years experience managing the development of, or acting in a lead engineering role, for one or more Java-based software server products or mobile device applications.
* Documented success of delivering products on time and under budget.
* Effective and decisive at issue tracking and resolution.
* Deep understanding of software development processes and life cycle management.
* Excellent leadership, people management, project management and communication skills.
* Ability to juggle multiple simultaneous projects through proven organizational skills with an innate ability to multitask in a fast pace, startup environment.
* Strong software engineering background.
* Excellent working knowledge of Java server, J2EE and Internet technologies.
* Experience with leading multi-discipline product teams and building high-powered teams from the ground up.
* Familiarity with XML, n-tier server technologies, Microsoft server technologies.
* 4-year college degree or higher in a technical discipline.
