This position is accountable for aligning HR systems with HR business strategy. By leveraging technology, this position plays a strategic role in aligning the HR function as a business partner.
The Senior HRIS Consultant defines initiatives, leads projects, researches/analyzes requirements, recommends and implements HR technology solutions for difficult and complex business problems; and plays a key role in the development, implementation and continuance of Human Resource systems.
Serves as a project lead or team member on requests related to various HR systems. Defines scope, options and feasibility. Gathers and analyzes business requirements and understands and interprets business needs and issues in order to effectively communicate business problem(s) to technical and non-technical teams. Plans and leads meetings. Determines, documents, presents, and implements solutions. Makes presentations to obtain buy-in on difficult solutions. Uses advanced oral and written communication skills to make technical and non-technical material understandable to business units and Information Technology. Additionally, develops related testing strategies, plans, and scripts.
Understands new and current HR IT strategy and HR business goals and objectives. Maintains awareness of current trends in HRMS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Partners with business/vendors to develop process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy and educate them on existing and new technology.
Develops and monitors work plans to complete tasks necessary to solve a business problem. Works with appropriate HR, IT, and business contacts.
Assumes responsibility for the resolution of HRT process issues and consults with the appropriate subject matter experts to determine, present, and implement a solution.
Prepares ad hoc reports utilizing the company s HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Plateau ).
Develops HRT procedures, guidelines and documentation.
Participates in internal and external audits.
Ensures data integrity, functionality and maintenance.
Educates, trains, and updates system users on system functionality.
Other duties may include:
o Distributing weekly files to vendors and reconciles edit/error reports.
o Importing data files in to PeopleSoft.
o Serving as a point of contact for specific areas of HR information systems.
Required Skills/Experience:
In depth knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM8.8 or greater.
Experience with PeopleSoft e-applications. Preferably, Manager Self Service, Employee Self Service, HR Help Desk, Checklists, and Workflow.
Excellent SQL, PeopleTools and PeopleSoft Query
Project management experience with information systems development projects that involve multi-disciplined groups (business users, systems analyst, engineers, etc)
Experience working with the HR business unit obtaining requirements and analyzing project information.

Education/Equiv. Experience:
6+ years of progressive functional HRIS experience in HRIS management
BA/BS degree or equivalent in HR, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
Master s or MBA preferred.
